This it, the program intended.
In my view a program's body is the real program. Once we have their attention, revealed the topic, validated our credentials and encouraged them to participate in the experience it's show time. While usually 90% of the program's time I will be succinct in this description, inserting appropriate links – YouTube & website – for added commentary on program creation and delivery to emphasize certain points I see as important because:
Speaking programs are an art form. You are the artist. Your audience wants you, you alone.
As an artist you are called to create a program others what to experience for its beneficial content which will excite their worldview toward a more healthy place whether you are delivering information, opinions or beliefs. Success flows from having a focused process. I call mine The 5-D Program Development Process.
Whatever program form I use, or some combination thereof, I design it as a sequence of bits to achieve the desired result using The VISA Speaking Models. Each one is a mini-program designed to influence or inform, directly or indirectly.
The best speakers are fully prepared, delivering their material as though it is coming to them moment-by-moment. It is because the know what comes next.
Finally, Ron Arden, one of the great speaking consultants, cautioned speakers to deliver material “not so you get it all out, but so your audience can get it all in.” |
