3. Open/Middle/Close

Each has it's purpose(s). Attend them.

    

Task: Segment/refine your flash bit into the three speech parts. Try to keep it under three miinutes.

 

Opening: Work on the wording until it accomplishes three goals: 1) gets the audience's attention, 2) makes a connection with the audience, (form a community), and  reflects on your experience, (establish your credibility).

 

Middle: Make your point(s) by presenting what you have to say as an oration to inform, influence, inspire, probably some of all three. Be yourself and be focused on the topic. (Each point can begin as a flash bit)

 

Closing: Two purposes seem important here: bring the bit to a conclusion, then sign off with a brief, memorable line.
