Stage 0: Gestation YT icon

From a single cell, a zygote to 26,000,000,000 in forty weeks... Whew!

At conception, a single cell, a zygote, begins it's journey to become human. It divides and divides for forty weeks becoming a fetus of 26,000,000,000 cells, three times earth's population. It's been very busy preparing for his next beginning.

The gestation period occurs in three stages: germinal (two weeks), embryo (eight weeks) and fetus (the final thirty). For excellent descriptions visit:

How one cell divides into billions – each with a specific attribute, some solids, other fluids, all with definite roles to fulfill – is wondrous process.

While we are uncertain what presets – potentials and limitations – are set in place during gestation, we do know something beyond all wonder is about to occur.
