Just when everything was going so well.
Whenever I mention puberty, the response is, "Oh, no." Still, it's a fateful condition.
Life as play becomes chaos. Something is happening. Life's perfect kaleidoscope is spinning out of control. Nothing makes sense. Rampant change is upon us.
"Why are my shoes tight? They fit last week? What do you mean I need a fourteen?"
"How did my pants get so short? Why won't my shirt tail stay tucked in."
"How did I grow seven inches in a year? Mom's a good cook, but..."
"What do you mean I'm a baritone? I've always been a tenor."
"Of course girls are still yucky... but Carla seems nice."
How about you? What witches brew happened in your life when biological maturity made its appearance? Welcome to the personal big bang and it's not a theory.
