Living in Stages: A Retrospective

Everything I think I see as true... is true... for me... for now.

When I read that Eric Hoffer believed life unfolded in stages of thirteen years my first reaction was, "Not way." We're all different, each life is a journey original.

Since I am an engineer by education and persona – both model addicted and terminally analytical – I had to conduct a self-test on the hypothesis.

What a surprise to find my life had unfolded as Hoffer proposed... nearly.

Story Gordon's Journey – Stories

13: Puberty: From play to chaos – First Love
26: Adulthood: From engineering to sales.
38: Calling: From sales to product management
49: Focus: To self-employed seminar professional – Out the Door
63: Realization: Retiring to volunteering in New Mexico
77: Reflection: Becoming Story Gordon

End Note: I do not believe this model holds for all, but am convinced each life is a progression of segues and stages, all flowing from change, chance and choice.
